Overview: Myofascial Release Technique (MFR) The Myofascial Release: Upper Limb course is an online educational course designed to introduce therapists to the Fascia and Myofascia systems and to teach therapists how to safely and effectively perform the Myofascial Release Technique (MFR) on the upper limb. MFR is a safe and effective manual therapy technique used to reduce pain, increase range of motion, and restore previous function. Widely used in the manual therapy field by osteopaths, physiotherapists, and massage therapists, MFR consists of a gentle, sustained pressure on the affected soft tissue while applying traction to the fascia. As a result, tightness in the fascia is released via lengthening and softening of the tissue and adhesions or scar tissue, located in the skin, muscles, bones, or internal organs, are broken down. The course consists of videos demonstrating and explaining how to properly use MFR for the upper limb. After viewing the videos, completion of the associated quiz is required with a passing score of 90% or higher to obtain certification.
